To Friends of Albie & Helen

Updated: Jun 26, 2022

Dear Friends of Albie and Helen Pearson, Here is an update the family wanted to send to get all of you up to speed on how these two are doing. Unfortunately it has been a difficult few months. Last October Helen went into the hospital for some intestinal issues. She had a wonderful doctor who performed the necessary surgery and resolved her problem. She is doing much, much better. Although she has pretty much lost her memory, she is quite present and has retained her sly sense of humor, her love for Albie and others, most especially Jesus. Her favorite song is the famous old hymn, “He Lives.” Helen’s surgery necessitated getting in home care for her. Albie tried his best as did the family but it became too much of a strain. Through your prayers, God sent a special team of care givers who meshed well with the family. About 6 weeks ago however, Albie had a series of strokes. Although not considered life threatening they still incapacitated Albie such that he lost the use of his left hand and had difficulty speaking. He stayed in the hospital and went through rehab such that he came home after two weeks. This new development changed everything. Now Albie and Helen needed 24/7 in home care. Kelli and Karee, with the rest of the family, pitching in as they could, helped stabilized this new situation and get the two the care they needed. New caregivers, new routines, new diets, and medications have slowly become more routine for the two and they are actually doing well, yet both are quite frail.

Those who may wish to help support Albie and Helen with their care can send your gifts to APM and receive a tax deduction from the ministry. Your money will go to the general fund, which will help support the parsonage housing allowance. The UMI website, unitedministriesint.com, has a GiveSendGo account if you would like to use that as well.

Otherwise, there is a personal bank account set up on their behalf. Any funds you wish to direct here will be written to, Albie Pearson, and will go directly into their health account. However, no tax deduction can be given for these funds.

Your checks can be sent to the address below. Simply make the above mentioned designations. Of course, Albie and Helen and family greatly appreciate your years of friendship and support. We all are deeply grateful for your help. Love, Tom & Kandi Hovsepian
